The film also walks a thin line in its treatment of infidelity. Even when presented as comedy, the subject needs emotional balance. If the writing becomes too casual, some viewers may feel the film avoids deeper consequences.

The opening response at the box office also suggests that the film did not create a huge theatrical rush on day one. Sacnilk reported an estimated ₹3.85 crore India net collection on its first Friday, while Bollywood Hungama estimated around ₹3.75 crore, calling the start average.

That means the film may depend strongly on weekend word-of-mouth.


Box Office Response

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do had a modest opening. Reports described its first-day performance as decent but not spectacular. Times of India noted that the film opened lower than the 2019 Pati Patni Aur Woh, while Republic World reported that it was among Ayushmann Khurrana’s lower openers in recent times.

This does not mean the film cannot grow. Comedy films often depend on weekend family audiences and urban multiplex viewers. If word-of-mouth remains positive, it may improve over the Saturday-Sunday period.

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is a light, performance-driven relationship comedy that works in parts. It has funny moments, a strong Ayushmann Khurrana performance and a lively Sara Ali Khan turn. The female cast adds freshness, and Mudassar Aziz keeps the tone mostly energetic.

But the film is not without flaws. The subject is familiar, the comedy is uneven in places, and the emotional seriousness of marital confusion does not always get enough weight. It works best when treated as a breezy entertainer rather than a deep relationship film.
